MTH trains surprised Blue Comet owners in the 2006 Tinplate Volume 1 catlogue with a 500 Series Standard Gauge Jersey Central "Blue Comet Box Car with Brass Trim. Blue Comet owners thought this would be a great addition to their 400E Blue Comet set placed between the tender and the passenger cars. And they are right, it looks great! But what a surprise when MTH released more Blue Comet Freight Cars in subsequent catalogs. It looks like the beginning of a Blue Comet Freight Set and it is quite impressive. Here's the train so far:
